In Arcol we ensure to offer the eMirror or the most suitable model of rear-view mirror for the type of vehicle that our customers want to design. At the same time we offer the possibility of carrying out a FOV (Field Of View)Study adapted to each vehicle design to ensure that the visibility of the mirror according to the placement in the vehicle is adequate and allows it to pass the homologations.

The appropriate position of the eMirror or the rear-view mirror depends mainly on the location of the driver’s point of view and the vehicle’s environment. For this reason, our customers provide us with the categories they wish to see (II, IV, V, VI), the measurements of the vehicle (3D CAD), the height at which the driver’s eyes are located, the positioning of the floor and any other element that may influence the vision of the mirror: windscreen wiper sweep area, lighting panels or fixed elements to protect the driver from the sun in order to carry out the Vision Study through a 3D simulation.

With these elements we carry out a simulation based on the reflection of the light where we verify that the visibility of the categories is optimal and if not, we make a proposal for alternative mirror placement.

At the end of the study, the customer has perfectly defined the placement of the rear-view mirror to ensure visibility to the driver and to be able to homologate the vehicle at the first time, helping to save time and money.
